Jennifer “Jen” Boyer is the COO and Acting CEO of Springfield Clinic. She started at Springfield Clinic in 2012 as a Nurse Navigator in Orthopedics. Soon after, she assumed the role of Operations Director for the Neuromuscular Service Line. Prior to her recent promotion to COO- she spent 8 years serving as SVP of Operations overseeing specialties and the Ambulatory Surgery Service line.
Jen has spent 30 years in health care- 15 years of nursing in critical care and emergency medicine as well as four in the public health arena. The last 23 have been spent serving in health care leadership. Driven by the unknown of each day but guided by her health care calling, Jen’s focus will always be helping the patient navigate the healthcare system while removing barriers so they get the care they need and partnering with physicians to ensure they have successful practices.
Jen earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jewish Hospital College of Nursing and Allied Health and a Master of Business Administration/HealthCare Administration from Benedictine University in Springfield. Professional affiliations include the American Medical Group Association (AMGA), Group Practice Improvement Network (GPIN), and Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing. She serves on the Medics First/AMTI board and Stratum Board of Directors.
Jen and her husband, Mason are active in the agriculture world as Mason farms east of Springfield. They have 3 adult sons (Nolan, Wyatt and Owen). Nolan and wife, Alaina, have 2 sons, Banks and Rhodes which are loved dearly by Mimi and Papa. Jen enjoys traveling with her family and friends (always looking for new adventures!!) and spending time at her parents’ lake in Southern Illinois.
